At VMworld 2014 in San Francisco Login VSI announced a new product. This product is in beta and is going by the project name Login VUM. Login VUM stands for Login Virtual Monitoring and it is a monitoring product which will focus on the user experience in hosted desktop environments. Login VUM is not designed to replace other monitoring product but instead it will integrate with larger  monitor solutions like Splunk or SCOM.

Please note: This is a personal blog and  not an official Login VSI blog post.

How does it work?

Login VUM will simulate users within your product environment. The workload logon to the environment, start applications and report this to a centralized location. When applications are taking longer to start or the VUM user is not able to logon Login VUM will automatically raise an alert so the administrator is informed before real user will start calling.

More information can be found in this blog post by Adam Carter (Project Manager)

Interview

At VMworld Adam Carter is interviewed by Eric Sloof about Login VUM. This interview includes a nice demo which will give an impression how the product looks.

More information

Login VUM is still in a private beta phase but a public beta will be there soon. Keep an eye out on the Login VSI website for more information.
